Calgary starter Fidel Paredes pitched well against the Vancouver Gas at Chargers Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-4, in 11 innings. Calgary is second in the Western League with a record of 67-47.

Calgary got a clutch hit from Jesús Castro. The designated hitter launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"Took some scratching and clawing," said Castro. "But we got it done."
