Martínez, Fur Traders Put Clamps on Gas
The Kamloops Fur Traders topped the Vancouver Gas, 3-1, in Western League action at Gas Field. The standout performance belonged to Kamloops pitcher and Guaimaro, Cuba, native Tarasio Martínez. The first-place Fur Traders have won 5 in a row.

The Fur Traders liked what they saw from Martínez. The 20-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Gas to 1 run on 5 hits over 9 innings, and striking out 7.

"We try to keep the mood light around here," said Martínez. "Winning helps."
