Calgary pitcher Serafín Villanueva did his part in helping his team beat the Kelowna Grizzlies, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Villanueva yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 21-12. With the victory, the Chargers upped their record to 69-48.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Troilo Basulto to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Chargers on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Basulto.
