Winnipeg Triumphs with Late Surge
The Winnipeg Strikers picked up a win at Saskatoon Fields, knocking off the Saskatoon Willows, 7-3. On the mound for Winnipeg was right-hander Marco Antonio Santana. He played a key role in the triumph. In 9 innings, Santana surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Winnipeg bumps their record to 70-47 with the win.

Winnipeg used the clutch hitting of Bradley Beattie to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Strikers ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
