Willows Knock Off Strikers at Saskatoon Fields
The Saskatoon Willows and Winnipeg Strikers completed their game despite the inclement weather.

Ed Townsend propelled his team to victory over the Winnipeg Strikers. The final score was 4-1, Saskatoon. The winning pitcher was Townsend, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4.

Igor Castillo had a big 2-run double for the Willows in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Saskatoon leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Julien Berthier and swatted a double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Willows ahead, 3-0.

"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Willows manager Matías Magaña.

Saskatoon is now 54-72, Winnipeg 57-69.
