Kelowna parlayed a decent outing from starter Fernando Chávez into a solid win over the Vancouver Gas. The final score was 6-3. Chávez yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 13-18. Kelowna is now 65-62.

Jesús Viramontes had a big run-scoring triple for the Grizzlies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Kelowna leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a curveball from Eumeo Hernández, who is tied for 8th in the WL with a 3.40 ERA, and swatted a triple to center. It was his 6th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-0.
