Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Irondequoit Peach Kings home opener. Ross Best started for the home team against Miqueas Guerrero for the Rochester Lilac Stockings. The Peach Kings were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 8-3, Rochester. Orran Lewis, though, was impressive.

Rochester used the hitting of Tomás Meda to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Lilac Stockings on top, 3-2. For the game, Meda had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Meda told the Rochester Daily News.
