Hopper Boys Use Late Surge to Win
The Buffalo Hopper Boys earned a close win over the Mentor Rose Stockings, thanks in part to Josh Cornaby. The Buffalo right-hander played a key role in the 11-inning, 3-2 victory. Buffalo reliever Scott Hawley picked up the win to move to 1-1. Darío Domínguez suffered the loss. The win moves Buffalo to a record of 5-6.

Buffalo used the timely hitting of Francisco López to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Hopper Boys on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"These kind of wins can be so good for a club's psyche," Buffalo manager Diodoro Dagnino said.
