Syracuse Halites starter Josh Davis turned in a top-notch performance against the Irondequoit Peach Kings at Fairweather Park. The result was a win for the Halites, 4-1. The winning pitcher was Davis, now 2-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. John Barnett earned the save for Syracuse, his 1st.
Hedde Geerling, who is tied for 5th in the EGLA in runs scored with 11, had a direct impact on the outcome. Geerling contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Syracuse up, 1-0.
Davis said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
With the win, Syracuse boosts its record to 8-4.
