The Sault St. Marie Rapids downed the Superior Whalebacks, 10-3, at Rapids Park, But Better. Ramiro Martínez led the way, going 2-for-4 for Sault St. Marie. Sault St. Marie pitcher Fernando Ramírez earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Toribio Gamboa suffered the loss. Sault St. Marie has a record of 7-11.

Sault St. Marie second baseman Everardo Ramírez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 14th hit of the season and put the Rapids ahead, 2-1.

"The key is not trying to do too much," said Martínez.
