Half Moons Pull Out Late-Game Win, 5-4
The Utica Half Moons had to overcome a fine effort from Irondequoit pitcher Frank Groves to win, 5-4, at Fairweather Park. Groves went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Peach Kings drop to 7-9, as their stumbling start to the 1915 season continues.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Sotero Gurrola? The 30-year old right fielder Gurrola stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Utica up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"This game tested our mettle," said Gurrola.
