Today was Manuel Martines's turn in the rotation for the Syracuse Halites and he made the most of it, shutting out the Utica Half Moons on 5 hits.

The 17-year-old right-hander led the Halites to an easy 10-0 victory, allowing 2 walks and tallying 10 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Utica manager Martin Bate said. "Martines certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
