Downward Spiral Continues for Sault St. Marie
|
In a low-scoring game between Duluth and Sault St. Marie, pitcher Constancio Medina was excellent. The Duluth right-hander helped his team knock off the Rapids, 3-1. Pablo Madera recorded the save for Duluth, his 2nd of the season. Sault St. Marie is 9-14 after the defeat.
Duluth used a clutch at-bat from Curcio Torres to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Zeniths ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Constancio was cooking with gas," said Duluth manager Mamerto Salgado.
