The timely hitting of Frutos González helped the Saginaw Joes down the Bay City Sugar Beets, 6-5. González went 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Joes. Heraclio Salas was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Joes raised their record to 14-14.

González had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a first pitch splitter from Salvador Romano, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Joes a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for González.

"Feels good to get the job done," González said after the game.
