Hopper Boys Handle Erie, Snag 3-2 Win
|
Buffalo pitcher Devine Pack did his part in helping his team defeat the Erie Commodores, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Jack Pfiester earned save number 1 this season. With the victory, the Hopper Boys record stands at 14-22.
Timoteo Contreras had a big 2-run home run for the Hopper Boys in the bottom of the first inning. With Buffalo leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from Rómulo Calvo, who is tied for 7th in the EGLA in wins with 5, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Hopper Boys on top, 3-0.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Contreras told the Buffalo Today.
