Zeniths Rally to Nose Past Marquette
The Duluth Zeniths did just enough to secure a victory over the Marquette Smelters, 4-3, in 11 innings at Peak Performance Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Silvio Ramírez. Duluth reliever Menendo Terán picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Absalón Músquez was saddled with the loss. The first-place Zeniths have won 5 consecutive games.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 25-year old first baseman Martín Carrillo had a chance to be the hero. Marquette pitcher Absalón Músquez wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Carrillo hit a run-scoring single. The Zeniths had themselves a thrilling win.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Duluth manager Fred Corey. "That's what Silvio is right now."
