Led by Joffrey Marin, the Utica Half Moons defeated the Rochester Lilac Stockings, 8-7. Marin was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Half Moons. Utica pitcher Teófilo Aguilar earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Martín Torres suffered the loss. Utica raised its record to 25-21 with the win.

In the bottom of the sixth, Marin put his team in front with his 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against Martín Torres, made it 8-7, Utica.

"It makes it a little nicer in the clubhouse when we win," said Marin. "It eases the tension."
