Halites Lose 6-3 Decision to Rochester
Tarasio Ruiz helped his team muscle past the Syracuse Halites, 6-3. In the game, the Rochester shortstop was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Picking up the save was Joe Stanley, his 3rd. The Lilac Stockings move to 19-27 with the win, while the Halites drop to 22-21.

With Rochester leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Ruiz came up to bat against Syracuse pitcher Juan Rodríguez. Ruiz hit a changeup to left-center for a solo home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Lilac Stockings on top, 4-2.

Ruiz said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
