The Utica Half Moons topped the Syracuse Halites, 11-9, with youngster Nehemías Piñeda playing a key role. Piñeda went 4-5 with 4 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Half Moons in the win. Utica reliever Lisco Estrada picked up the win to move to 3-1. John Barnett suffered the loss. The Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Ontario-leading Half Moons are 28-19.
