The Irondequoit Peach Kings were defeated, 3-2, by the Syracuse Halites at Fairweather Park, even though Atanasio Balbuena pitched well for Irondequoit. Syracuse, at 25-24, occupies third place in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Ontario.

Isaías Fuentes's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Atanasio Balbuena to right for a run-scoring single. It put Syracuse in front, 3-2.

"That's baseball," said Irondequoit manager Gregorio Sanabria. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
