The Duluth Zeniths picked up a win at Pig Iron Stadium, dropping the Marquette Smelters, 7-1. Silvio Ramírez was the difference-maker. The winner was Ramírez. He threw 7.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Valerio Álvarez. The loss makes Marquette 30-25.

Curcio Torres had a big 2-run home run for the Zeniths in the top of the second inning. With Duluth leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a sinker from Valerio Álvarez, who is tied for 5th in the WGLA in wins with 8, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Zeniths on top, 3-0.
