The Alpena Partridges powered past the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers, 11-4, at Birds' Nest of Alpena. Tomás Velásquez provided some of the pop. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Uranio Avitia got the win, improving to 8-6. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 0. The 'W' lifts Alpena's record to 29-30.

Halim bin Ishaq had a big 3-run home run for the Partridges in the bottom of the first inning. With Alpena leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Ramón Durán and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Partridges on top, 5-0.

"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Alpena skipper Oscar Naranjo.
