The outcome was not decided until the very end at Campo de Matanzas.

The Matanzas Henequeneros defeated the Mayabeque Alacranes, 5-4, in Torneo Occidental action at Campo de Matanzas. Matanzas pitcher Francisco Teixeira had a standout performance. With the win, Matanzas raised its record to 62-57.

Abenámar Gómez did his part for the Henequeneros, producing a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 5 with a double.

"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Gómez.
