Camaguey Hopeless Against Taylor
|
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Camaguey Tinajones as starter Scannell Taylor shut them out, 1-0, at Recinto Deportivo de Holguin. The Holguin pitcher struck out 3 and walked 0 while allowing 1 hit.
"Taylor was good but he wasn't flawless," Camaguey manager Leopoldo González said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Holguin, but this is on us."
To date this season, Taylor sports a 9-15 mark with a 2.12 ERA in 31 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .221 batting average and has 85 strikeouts in 224.2 innings.
