Orphans Stick Colonels with 2-1 Loss
|
Behind an impressive start by Toad Ramsey, Chicago beat Louisville, 2-1. Ramsey, who is tied for 8th in the WL in strikeouts with 49, went the distance for Chicago. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. The win puts Chicago at 32-23 this season.
Chicago shortstop Charlie Irwin helped the Orphans go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Irwin hit a run-scoring single off Louisville pitcher Lance LaFerriere.
