The Las Tunas Escultores reigned over the Trinidad Tabacaleros in damp conditions.
The Las Tunas Escultores defeated the Trinidad Tabacaleros, 7-2, in part because of second baseman René López. López went 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Escultores. Las Tunas starter Román García was credited with the win after throwing 92 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-5. Diego Silva was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 11 save opportunities.
José Saucedo, who is tied for 8th in the TORI in stolen bases with 38, aided the Las Tunas cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder was 1-3.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Saucedo.
Las Tunas goes to 55-58, Trinidad to 60-51.
