Big Day for McAleer as Martenos Down Monjes Grises, 7-3
|
Martenos first baseman Bill McAleer left his imprint on his team's 7-3 win over the Ciego de Avila Monjes Grises. McAleer went 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Manzanillo in the contest. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Martenos.
With Manzanillo leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, McAleer hit a sinker from Esteban Cortés for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Martenos ahead, 5-0.
"We didn't play well enough to win," said Ciego de Avila skipper Hernán Leonardo.
