Barinas picked up a win at Campo de Barinas, bumping off the Maracay Jardineros, 9-2. Pitcher Víctor Hugo García was a major reason the Viajeros emerged victorious. The loss makes Maracay 3-3.

Jorge Montoya had a big 2-run triple for the Viajeros in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Barinas leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Reginaldo Alonso, who led the LO in wins with 19 in 1911, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Viajeros ahead, 3-0.

"Víctor Hugo kept his poise and got the job done," said Barinas manager Samuel Morales. "He was outstanding."
