Clemente Gutiérrez kept the Trinidad Tabacaleros hitters from doing much damage at Campo de los Tabacaleros.

Trinidad could only muster 5 hits and draw 2 walks against the left-handed Gutiérrez, who controlled them throughout the game. Santiago de Cuba won the contest, 4-0. Gutiérrez added 3 strikeouts in his complete-game effort.

"I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Gutiérrez told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time."
