Guajiros Slap 7-2 Loss on Santa Clara
|
The Pinar del Rio Guajiros topped the Santa Clara Leopardos, 7-2, in Torneo Occidental action at El Campo de los Guajiros. The standout performance belonged to Pinar del Rio pitcher and Caguas, Puerto Rico, native Carlos Macías. Enrique Báez notched his 11th save in 12 chances. Today's win puts Pinar del Rio at 41-85, while Santa Clara falls to 60-68.
In the bottom of the second, Pinar del Rio right fielder Mórsimo González had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, González stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 3-0, Pinar del Rio. For the game, he went 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," González said.
