Victory Pushes Industriales Record to 8-7
|
The Valencia Industriales beat the Maracay Jardineros by a score of 7-4. Valencia right fielder Apolonio Heredia deserved the lion's share of the credit. Heredia went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Industriales. Now 6-9, the Jardineros have gotten off to a poor start.
In the bottom of the sixth, Esteban Ibarra delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Valencia third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Industriales in front, 7-4.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Valencia manager José Pacheco.
