Marmoleros Get Clutch Win Versus Habana
|
Kayne Ariss, who is a three-time All-Star, pitched well, but the Habana Leones still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Nueva Gerona Marmoleros at Parque de los Leones. Basilio Martínez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 6-10. Kayne Ariss suffered the loss. The loss makes Habana 71-57.
Efraín Loaíza, who finished 4th in the TOCC in runs with 75 in 1905, had a direct impact on the outcome. Loaíza contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Nueva Gerona up, 3-2.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Loaíza.
