The Norwalk Maples walked off with a big win.

The Norwalk Maples took Josh Cornaby's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Syrup Park. The final score had Norwalk getting past the Hopper Boys, 4-3, in 11 innings. Cornaby over 8 innings allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 6. Santiago Goní, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings.

When he batted in the bottom of the 11th, Andy Savela had a golden opportunity to change the game's outcome. Buffalo pitcher Alejandro Urbina was determined not to let him. But with one out, Savela hit a sacrifice fly -- and the Maples had a suspense-filled triumph.

Savela called the triumph "a good team win."

Norwalk, now 26-40, holds down last place in the Eastern Great Lakes Association League of Lake Erie.
