Joss Shuts Out Spiders, 4-0
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Cleveland Spiders as starter Addie Joss shut them out, 4-0, at West Side Grounds 1894-1915. The Chicago pitcher struck out 5 and walked 1 while allowing 4 hits.

"Joss was good but he wasn't flawless," Cleveland manager Russ McKelvy said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Chicago, but this is on us."

So far this year, Joss has made 14 starts, tossed 124 innings, struck out 55 batters and walked 27. His record is 8-3 with a 1.74 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .187 batting average.
