It was a good day for the Companeros at El Marenguito as they clipped the Yauco Napoleonicos, 19-1. It was tremendous day for Nicasio Rodríguez, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-7.
"I don't know what to call that," the Hormigueros first baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Nicasio Rodríguez hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Rosendo Anguiano in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
At present, Rodríguez is batting .373 and has collected 3 home runs, 17 RBIs, .456 OBP and scored 9 runs.
