Colonels Collect 6-4 Win Over Reds
The Louisville Colonels took Brendan McDowell's best shot and still were able to collect a win at League Park II 1894-1901. The final score had Louisville getting past the Reds, 6-4, in 13 innings. McDowell over 7.2 innings allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2. The winner in relief was Jason Gunter. He is now 4-2. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. The first-place Reds dropped to 21-15.

Louisville used the timely hitting of Tom McCreery to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Colonels on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Colonels manager Ned Connor.
