Submersibles Jolt Deep Ones, 3-2, with Late Rally
|
Falmouth Submersibles starter Aidan Thomson turned in a sparkling performance against the Newburyport Deep Ones, leading his team to a 3-2 win. Thomson, now 1-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs. Newburyport is now 2-2.
Hansel Malagón was the walk-off hero for Falmouth. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Submersibles first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Aidan's as tough as he is talented," said Falmouth manager Charlie Bastian.
