The Winchendon Rocking Horses beat the Falmouth Submersibles, 6-4, at OceanGate Memorial Stadium. Toribio Noda, in particular, was impressive. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Calvino Mejía picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-2. He struck out 2 in 8 innings. The save went to Ramón Govantes, his 1st this season.
There was more than one reason the Rocking Horses beat the Submersibles, but Noda's big at-bat in the top of the second was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Falmouth manager Charlie Bastian.
The loss drops Falmouth to 3-8.
