The Washington Senators defeated the New York Giants, 5-2, in Eastern League action at Polo Grounds 1890-1910. Washington pitcher Joe Corbett had a standout performance. Washington is 29-39 and New York, with the loss, 25-40.

Washington used a well-timed hit by Jim Delahanty to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Senators ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Joe was really locked in," said Washington manager Pony Sager.
