Quebeckers Collect 8-5 Win Over Cordwainers
Auburn got a terrific game from second baseman Aureliano Peña. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Lewiston, 8-5, in 10 innings. Peña was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Cordwainers drop to 7-13, as their fitful start to the 1908 campaign continues.

Lewiston used the timely hitting of Gabino Pérez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Quebeckers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame remarks, Pérez said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
