Alder Brings A-Game, Spiders Beat Browns
|
John Alder was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at League Park I. In fact, the Cleveland Spiders right-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Browns. The last-place Browns dropped to 31-56.
Alder earned the win to move to 9-8. In his 9-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 5 and walking 2. The right-hander allowed the Browns few scoring opportunities.
"John was aggressive right out of the chute," said Cleveland manager Russ McKelvy.
