Louisville Loses, 3-2, to Cleveland in 11
|
Cleveland right-hander John Alder helped his team edge Louisville by the score of 3-2 in 11 innings. Alder kept the opposing lineup in check. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Jesse Stovall. The Spiders saw their record improve to 46-49.
Steve Jones drew 1 walk in 3 trips to the plate for Cleveland. In a tie game with one out in the top of the 11th, Jones came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Spiders in front, 3-2.
Said Cleveland manager Russ McKelvy: "John came into the game mentally strong. He dominated."
