The game between Stamford and Griswold is in the books, despite a little rain.

The Stamford Locksmiths defeated the Griswold Vampires, 7-6. Doing his part was first baseman Atilio Vargas, who went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. Federico López picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 5 runs on 6 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 3-8. Getting the save was Blas García, his 3rd.

Vargas contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Stamford get the win.

"I felt good up there," said Vargas. "I saw the ball well."

At 30-30, the Locksmiths find themselves in second place in the Southern New England Association Connecticut Circuit.
