Luis Bustamante knocked in 3 runs to help New Haven beat Stamford, 8-7. Bustamante produced 1 single and 2 home runs. The winner was Rube Kisinger, who threw 172 pitches over 10 innings. The right-hander was charged with 7 runs on 14 hits. The Regicides now have a mark of 25-35.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the tenth. With New Haven trailing 7-6, Bustamante jumped on a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Blas García and hit a 2-run home run to left-center. With one swing, the Regicides had a walk-off win.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Bustamante said.
