All went well for Donnie Williams of the St. Louis Browns as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 9-0, over the Cleveland Spiders, limiting them to 7 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Williams on the day.

"Donnie's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Browns manager Jim Dee. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."

In the contest, the St. Louis left-hander rang up 2 and surrendered 3 walks.

"He didn't give us any second chances," said Spiders manager Russ McKelvy. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
