Elms Hand Auburn 4-1 Loss

The Waterville Elms and Auburn Cordwainers completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Waterville Elms defeated the Auburn Cordwainers, 4-1, in Northern New England Association action at The Grove. Waterville pitcher José Ocampo had a standout performance. Lorenzo Flores, credited with the save, is now 2 for 4 in save opportunities.
Waterville second baseman Derek Day helped the Elms go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Day hit a run-scoring single off Auburn pitcher Matías Hernández.
"José knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Waterville manager Esteban Banegas.
Waterville has run its win streak to 4 straight.
