The New Haven Regicides earned a close win over the Stamford Locksmiths, thanks in part to José García. The New Haven right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the SNEA in strikeouts with 126, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The Regicides now own a record of 35-38.

Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 36-year old catcher Nicasio Domínguez had a chance to be the hero. Stamford pitcher Blas García had other ideas. But with one out, Domínguez hit a run-scoring single. The Regicides had themselves a dramatic win.

"José did a heck of a job," said New Haven manager Demetrio Sosa.
