Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Winchendon Rocking Horses and Templeton Red Onions.

The Winchendon Rocking Horses topped the Templeton Red Onions, 4-0, in Southern New England Association action at The Toy Store. The standout performance belonged to Winchendon pitcher and Maunabo, Puerto Rico, native Rubén García. Ramón Govantes picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Jaime Contín suffered the loss.

In the bottom of the eighth, Winchendon first baseman Ginés Elizarrarás hit a run-scoring double to left-center field. The clutch hit made it 1-0, Rocking Horses.

"We'll enjoy this win," said García. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

Winchendon has a record of 48-27, placing them first in the Southern New England Association Massachusetts Circuit.
