Drawbridges Beat Locksmiths in 10

Mystic and Stamford exchanged scoreless frames until -- at last -- someone crossed the plate.
The Mystic Drawbridges in 10 innings beat the Stamford Locksmiths, 1-0, at The Key Party. Starting pitcher Juan Barreto was a major factor, holding his opponents in check all game. The second-place Drawbridges hiked their record to 41-36.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Tristán Ramírez came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Stamford pitcher Blas García, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Mystic on top, 1-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Mystic manager Justin Poole said.
