Red Onions Use Late Score to Top Deep Ones, 3-2
Despite the rain, the fans at The House of Sorrow enjoyed a good ballgame.

With first baseman Gelmiro Tejeda leading the charge, the Templeton Red Onions defeated the Newburyport Deep Ones, 3-2, at The House of Sorrow. Tejeda, who is tied for 4th in the SNEA in doubles with 21, was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. The winner was Jorge Cortés in relief. His record improves to 5-9. Hernando Arellano took the loss.

Templeton went up, 3-2, on Eduardo Céspedes's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Céspedes hit in the bottom of the eighth, made Newburyport pitcher Hernando Arellano grimace.

"Winning never gets dull," said Céspedes.

The Red Onions are now 41-38, while the Deep Ones fall to 33-46.
