The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Manchester Gamblers picked up a win at Gamblers' Den, topping the Nashua Gatekeepers, 3-1. On the mound for Manchester was right-hander Harry Felix. He played a principal role in the triumph. Felix, now 10-8, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
Doing his part for Manchester was first baseman Ellis Fleming, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Fleming was 3 for 3 with 3 singles.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Nashua manager Goliat González.
Their 41-42 record puts the Gamblers third in the Northern New England Association New Hampshire Circuit.
