Arroyo Helps Vampires Defeat Drawbridges, 10-7
|
The Griswold Vampires beat the Mystic Drawbridges, 10-7, at Ballpark By The Water. Griswold catcher Gabriel Arroyo had an outstanding performance. He went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Griswold pitcher José Borges got the win. He's now 5-6. Remigio Colin was tagged with the loss. Griswold occupies first place in the Southern New England Association Connecticut Circuit at 48-36.
Griswold used the hitting of Andrés Maldonado to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Vampires on top, 4-0. For the game, Maldonado had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I had some good swings out there," said Arroyo.
